I spotted this brightly colored group of nymphs huddled together on a seed pod. I didn't know off hand what species of nymphs they were, since they resembled those of some stink bug species.

After searching my guide book I found out they were nymphs of the Large Milkweed Bug. These little guys like to stay huddled up together on a host plant throughout the day.

This particular bunch perched on this seed pod for days, until my wife decided to clean out the flower bed for the winter. Rosie unknowingly pulled out their host plant, so now they are huddled up on the lower outside portion of our basement window.

Every day when I came home from work I would go out and check on them to see how big they were getting. I had planned on getting a shot at different stages of growth in order to share the photos on TN.

I came home the other day and hurriedly got my camera ready, only to go outside and find Rosie kneeling in the empty flower bed. I said Rosie!!!!....where are my bugs!!!! She looked up and said....What bugs???
