[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The butterflies were quite active on this particular day with many searching for potential mates. I had just focused my lens on a fritillary and noticed another swiftly zeroing in from behind.

Taking a burst of shots I obtained this image showing what I believe was the beginning of a mating ritual. The two butterflies tightly circled each other in an upward dance high into the tree tops, never to be seen again.

Hello Ron,

Hope you are doing fine and family is OK. Great anticipation dear friend and great timing too and the rest has been taken care of by excellent focusing which became possible because of a steady hand.It is a sharp crisp image of great natural beauty.Absolutely wonderful! Note is is great too. Thanks a lot for sharing, take care,

best regards/Abid

The diagonal alignment between two butterflies -- one stationary and other in flight -- is almost perfect, Ron. At 1/800, the butterfly in flight is frozen into a sharp image except for the blurring movement at wing tips.
Besides technical excellence, the image scores high in terms of aesthetics I normally attribute to composition and color tones.
Well done and congratulations!

Excellent acion shot with both butterfly antennas very sharp. Excellent compostion and colours.
The flower does not look like a fritillary.

Hello Ron,
a stunning shot that has that bit of extra interest with the butterfly in flight perfectly positioned for maximum impact.
Gorgeous colours and impeccable details complete the scene.
Regards Les.
