[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this shot of two mating Yellowpatch Skippers a few months ago. I can't remember ever finding a pair in copulation and was thrilled to capture the moment. These tiny butterflies are typically very erratic fliers.

This particular species have a wingspan of around one inch and can be found in fields, lawns, meadows, roadsides and freshwater wetlands. Caterpillars feed on grasses and especially like Red Clover.

I wish I would have had the aperture set a little higher, giving me a tad more DOF. Maybe next time:)

Hi Ron,there a lot of skipper in my country too,but i never seen live a mating moment of this specie. You caught in a great way this lucky meeting, impressive sharpness everywhere and perfect colors too,i like it! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ron,

Hope you are doing fine. Ah! This is an amazing shot of these mating skippers. The focus is inch perfect, the tiny hair on the stem, the flower and the skippers are so velvety, so fine. The brown colours of the skippers are lovely as are the various shades of green in there. Off late you have been capturing butterflies with such a skill and with a vision.....isn't it? Thanks a lot for sharing, take care,
best regards/Abid

Hello Ron,

Beautiful Skippers and well captured them in their natural habitat. Although BG was busy, but you managed to obtain quite well one. Very good details and color on skippers as well as focus on them.
Have a look on Skippers again.....What are you watching? Yes, two Skippers, but I think a big percentage of your concentration is taking by the shadows of plant branches (Top Left Corner). Block them with your thumb/palm. Now see (smile). You are good in PP work, so mentioned.

Thanks for sharing,

Excellent moment Ron and a very good picture of this moment! You did an excellent work here. As you say a higher aperture better, but I also get "thrilled" when I see moments like this one. So great picture and moment. Thank you for sharing it with us and congratulation.
