[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I believe this is the skeleton of one of the pine trees. In the high country the weather can be severe as the remains of this old warrior show. The spiralling trunk is vital to the survival of the tree. If the tree is struck by lightning it spirals down the trunk and does not cut off the life flow from ground to crown.

This shot has a very strong visual impact.
Simple, yet intricate composition. Beautiful colors.
That was an interesting note about the spiralling trunk and its role in the tree's survival. Fascinating, Evelynn. TFS. : )
