[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Panthera Pardus Orientalis. These beautiful felines are so terribly endangered that we really must make every effort to act now if we are going to have any hope at all in saving them. There are now (more accurate count than my previous posting) thought to be only 30 living in their natural habitats and around 200 in zoos and otherwise captive environments.

They are the lightest coats and largest spots of all the leopards, thought to help adapt to their snowy environment in the mountains where China, Russia and Korea meet. This is now the only place they can be found. They used to inhabit the entire region along the Amur River.

www.bigcatrescue.org is one of many sites that has information on how to contribute to saving the Amur Leopard. They are a non-profit, educational sanctuary in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Contacting the Russian Consolate is a great option-
Thanks for doing your part, after all- I feel we have a certain obligation, as photographers of wildlife to act on thier behalf.

Have a wonderful week!!

Little bit of movement in the whiskers and just a little soft on the eyes, otherwise a pretty striking image, and well presented.

A wonderful cat and a splendid photo.

Hi Nichole,
This is an awe inspiring pic. What a capture. I do not have enough words to describe my happiness, when I look at it.

Keep going, TFS,
Ps: Just signed the petition. The due date for 10000 petitions was 2002. Just FYI.

very good dental shot...:D

my try at extreme sharpness if required

Hello Nichole , beautifull portret photo, good colours sharpnes details composity great photo ,thanks ,greeting Teunie .

Hello Nichole,
A very fine shot. Excellent detail and good tones of colour. A great capture, very well done. Thank you for posting.

Good moment, excelent cadrage. Presentation contributed a lot. Vanity is the main enemy of these large cats: vanity of main to hunt it, vanity of woman to wear its fur. Thats why the Pesian cheetah, the Barbary lion, the Anatolian leopard and the Caspian tiger are gone. I was recently in South America and I was stroke by the extremelly small size of cougars compared to temperate parts of the North America.

Excellent aggressive expression captured here. Well composed with a very good POV. Light, color and detail is excellent also. The whisker blur conveys movement nicely. I hope you don't mind, but I did a WS to try and improve this great image.

Lovely shot Nichole. He must have been panting hard as I can see motion blur around his whiskers. Nice crop. Good exposure. TFS.
