[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a Greater Flamingo that is mainly located along the coastal areas of Florida, USA. They are foraging waders and walk in shallow water with their heads down, swinging their heads and bills from side to side to capture food like tiny shrimp brine. Immatures of all the Flamingo spieces start out with pale whittish plumage and take approximately three to four years before they are their adult color.

I thought I would go with an artist approach to this Flamingo shot and cropped it up a bit . Although this was taken insdie a Wildlife Refuge/Park these Flamingos , Wood Storks, Herons, Ibis, and Egrets come and go freely so they are not captive. The only captives are the injured birds of prey and mammals that will live out their lives there.

Very artistic Lesley. Great detail and awesome array of colours. Magical. Well Done

Yes! Artistic it is, and such a nice one. The lines flowing out from the bottom left are striking. The colours and tone just perfect. Always a pleasure to look at your work. Well done.

Lesley, you have done it again, youe elegance is present in all of your shots, but here is outstanding. Fantastic colours, and stunning composition. My monitor, glasses, eyes and brain likes this very much.

I like the effect you have created here, the colours are good as is the composition. Now, It's a rare thing to find something to criticise in your photos so in an odd way I'm quite glad to point out that the eye is a little soft in focus (only a little). To make this photo "zing" for me would be a supersharp eye with a glint in.

It's great Lesley.

Points tomorrow.

Nice one Lesley - must be the camera ;D

More artistic than scientific. Looks like ballerina :-) Great composition and variety of white to red colours.

A great shot Lesley like always, perfect colors.
Straight in my favorites.

Very artistic and the colors are stunning. The eye adds a lot to the impact of this shot.

Very well done and thanks for posting.

Very nice color and texture Lesley. Very artistic and eye-catching. Thanks for sharing! Regards!

Wow. This is phenomenal. I've seen flamingos before, but my photos look nothing like THIS! This is just awesome. I love the way you cropped it to give us all a fresh look at a familiar enough animal. Awesome. I would never have thought to do this.

A feast for my eyes! Love the color and texture, and you did a wonderful job on the crop!

Excellent composed, this one with beautiful colours, great shot, Lesley !

Awesome image. I love shots like this and will be looking out for more of your work. If you ever want to see greater flamingoes in huge numbers in their natural environment then think of visiting Namibia (Walvis Bay) or Kenya and Tanzania (the lakes). Regards, Rob

Fantastic colors! Amazing shot!
