Hello, I'm back but still trying to catch up on chores! I have so many of your super images to view and critique! I'm not sure when I'll get to them! I took lots of images on recent trip, but still have to go through them; so will post this from the miscellaneous archive file. I have always liked the mood of this shot. There is so much I need to learn about low light photography. I think this was more of a happy accident. I am having trouble accessing the exposure info.

Mystery itself. Could be a cover of Edgar Allen Poe "The Raven". Great atmosphere shot !

Hello Evelynn, nice shot in silhouette!
Good details and compo.

Hi Evelynn,
I envy you having such great photos in your archive. The mood in this photo is just amazing. Composition, colors and light are just so beautiful. The clarity is perfect throughout the entire scenery. This is just really stunning.
TFS and welcome back.

Hello Evelynn,
Very well composed!
The mood here is awesome, the view can make any interpretation from this scenery...
Great moody colours and fine details!

Saludos... Ricardo

Very beautiful composition Evelynn... indeed.
The effect of the low light like you have denominated in your notes it is really very nice, creating areas in dimness and others illuminated very pleasant.
The silhouette of the bird in repose on the branch is an extra point to the already beautiful image.
Greetings... Ricardo

I like the way you did this. I would love to know how also.
Great shot!

Hi Evelynn,
Wow, great effect! This is a very creative and well composed shot. The dark shadows and bright areas both create, as you said, a wonderful mood. Well seen and executed!

This looks very atmospheric "Quoth the raven Nevermore" I love the hulking sillouette of the raven and the muted colours.

Hi Evelynn.

Perfectly composed shot.Perhaps we can't see the eye of the raven but we can see where he lives! This is one of the photos which takes you to where it exits.

Well Done & TFS.

Simplement magnifique , I like it beautifull...

This is a great shot Evelynn.
A typical Raven shot as he peers across the mountain valley checking out his territory. I just love Raven , they are such an intelligent bird.

The tree has such interesting coloured bark and branches. Welcome back!
TFS Janice

It's really nice how the subjects are the things in silouette and the bg is in light. Or is it the other way? It reminds me of optical illustion art like Escher. In my ideal world that bird is in crisper focus.
P.S. Good to have you back. I missed you! (I think Niek did, too.)

Hello Evelynn, love the semi silhouetted tree and bird against the unusual background. Your composition is very good here. Well done.

Hi Evelynn,

Wow, this is a very beautiful and mysterious shot!
Great silhoutte and sharpness. And the colours of the mountains in the background look very beautiful.
I like it very much, thanks for sharing.

Greetings, Nel

I absolutely love this picture, Evelynn.
The light, the mood, the composition... are all just out of this world.
A very powerful image.
TFS. : )

Cool shot Evelynn! Great mood captured here.

what an accident.... the light behind is great, and there is just enough on the left not to be totally black and useless....

great shot. for me it is the background that captures the shot... but I'm a sucker for mountains and clouds...

Hi Evelynn, I am new here but straight fascinated by your art. You are painting by shooting. This one is great. Superb composition, beautifull colour harmony. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Evelyn

Just found this shot. It is quite amazing - I cannot put my finger on why I like it so much, the mountain and mist/cloud are excellent, but so are the impressionistic greens and grey/purples - and of course the skulking raven.

We have Ravens in the UK - I think I have seen them twice in England (apart from the Tower of London) and a few times in the Highlands of Scotland.

I have put this into my favourites

Great shot, beautiful colors and the DOF. Contrast is perfect. Very creative shot.
