Still have not gotten out yet so another archive shot. This was taken about two weeks ago. Not sure about this one as the BG is bright and the foreground is dark. The Squirrel is under a tree in the shade, but the leaves and plants behind him is reflecting that afternoon sun. However I did like the backlight effect being reflected from the plants. Let me know what you think as I am on the border on this one. See you all out on the site.

hi greg, what a lovely shot! :-)
you actually gave your own critique -
the bg is wonderful because of its brightness and colors
and in contrast to that the fg with the squirrel and the tree
a tiny bit too dark, but that somehow does not matter too
much because the overall impact is terrific and the pose
of the squirrel leaning against the tree and looking into
the lens and the sharpness, pov and composition are perfect.
superb job & take care, thorsten.

Well, IMHO, I think it is stunning! It's wonderful...no more to say!!

Hi Gregory,
What a beautiful photo. Such excellent details captured. Love the fact that you shot it in the shade, giving it really beautiful color tones. The OOF BG with the sunlight on it is superb and helps to bring out the squirrel even more. Just stunning.

Hello Gregory,
Beautiful natural shot - very clear, great sharpness, POV and colorful. Excellent composition and great details. Well done and thank you for sharing.

Oh, i think it works great! That light reflecting in the back an dthose stripes made by the small, thin branches make out a really beautiful BG. Also it colrs an dtone contrast very nicely with the subject so i guess it's simlpy GREAT! :)

Primorosa imagen Gregory con una gran agudeza y perfecto foco, gracias a un atinado DOF, logrando además un difuso fondo.
Me encanta el encuadre elegido que junto con una iluminación muy bien controlada conforman una gran composición.
Gracias y saludos... Ricardo

Dainty image Gregory with great sharpness and perfect focus, due to an accurate DOF, obtaining moreover a diffuse background.
I love the chosen framing that along with very a well controlled lighting conforms a great composition.

Hola Amigo Gregory, Excelente imagen, cálida y colorido fabuloso, excelente compo. Muchos saludos

This has been added to my favorites! I really like this. You know, you and Claudine take really nice squirrel pictures!
Absolutely agree with thorsten. I don't need to say much more except it's really sharp and detailed.
Usually i would comment about mergers but those 'plants' in the background kinda created a very nice effect to enhance the whole picture. And probably it's repeated so it doesn't come across as a merger or distraction. I really love the lighting too! :)
So much for not saying much more!

Hi Gregory.
I think, that this picture can be put in the category outstanding safely. The captured scene, composition, clear beautiful paints of the BG, perfect details of the squirrel etc – all of these components of the photography are superb. BRAVO and my best re-gards,

Hi Greg,
great detailed shot!
Colours and sharpness are great.
You even have a tit in the bg.

Perfect... everything: composition, colours, sharpnes, contrast between grey squirrel and tree and light background...
TFS !!

Can't say anything but this: this is a pick I'd like to frame and hang on my wall.

I think it's a beautiful shot Gregory. Just the background looking like stained glass is enough to promote this picture. The DOF is as good as it gets I think. It's a real poster shot. TFS Trevor
