Greetings everyone,
Again I have to apologise for my absence lately. Work and other obligations have kept me from participating lately. I have been working on my website and photography business in my limited spare time.

I finally managed and early morning trip to our local nature center. A cool front came thru and gave us our first cool morning and a heavy dew. This guy was covered in dew and to cold to fly at this point. This gave me time to set up my tripod and work close to him.

Hi Scott,
So good to see you. : )
Wow, what exquisite details on this frosted dragonfly.

Bonjour Scott,
I was absent too ;-) Superb close-up for this lovely wet & cold insect...
The "+++" : nice subject, droplets, pose, POV, sharpness, DOF, good blurred background, colors, exposure...
The "-" : perhaps a bit centered...
Bravo my friend and thanks for sharing,
Christian

Hello Scott
fine picture of this dasher. That's always a great sight to see the morning dew on the wings of a dragonfly.
Nice colour combination between the blue's and green's. Although absolute symmetry can be boring in pictures, I think think it would have been nice not to see the 'plant'. but that is just a very minor nit.
Regards, Jacob

Hi Scott

Wow, what a beautiful dragon. Stunning colour and well captured BTW.
Excellent sharpness, POv, DOF and composition.
Love the dew on the wings, makes agreat shot.

Chris

Hi Scott

This is absolutely amazing!!!
The vivd colors here make it look so alive yet the frosty water on its wings give it a distant and ...well...dead look. It's amazing how these two totally different "feelings" blend so well here.

Other than that, this is a gorgeous species that i'd LOVE to encounter oneday and take some nice photos of.
You did an excellent job here and the level of details you managed to obtain from this shot is impressive.
Very good POV and impeccable DOF, too with the exact and correct exposure...as usual.

Take care my friend and TFS

Hello Scott,
Great to see you back in action on TN!
This is a fantastic capture of a dew-laden Dragonfly, the shot being attractive not only because of the wonderful blue of the dragon but the dew-drops on the wings.
Excellent sharpness, composition and bokeh.
An extraordinary shot!
Well done and TFS!
Ivan

Perfection Scott, this is really fantastic, I love the dorsal view of these creatures it shows everything about them, and you diod it with accuracy, both colors(love the blue)and details are 'very cherry'I like the droplets of dew adhered to the subject, it's like a sugar-glazed treat. Very nice. :)

Hi Scott,

Nice to see you again! Wonderful post for your comeback. This Blue Dasher almost looks frozen. The frost on the wings and the body is just amazing. Beautiful composition, sharp details, and wonderful colors. A very rare shot.

Jane

Hi Scott,
Apology accepted especially since you were busy what I consider one of the most important things in live.
I've seen manu dragonfly photos on TN, but never one that was covered in dew. It does make the dragonfly even more beautiful. The awesome blue color of the dragon is also a new to me. The fact that it gives such great contrast with the soft green BG is wonderful. The details and DOF are magnificent.
TFS,
Niek

Hope to see lots more of your work

Oh...Poor little thing :) It is the first time I see such a picture! Details on its wings are amazing, very sharp and beautiful! I like this natural exposure a lot and those great colors. I hope it woke up after some time... Thanks,
Claudine

Hello Scott

The focus on the pearls of water is fantastic!
The composition is a classic one but the sharpness and the colors are wonderful.

Thank you for sharing.

Servane

Poor guy seems to be frosted over, Scott.
This razor sharp image shows the dew on the creature beautifully.
The general blue color of the dragonfly is also very attractive.

I too have been somewhat over-busy with my new assignment and feel guilty when I make erratic appearances on TN and sometimes fail to return the favors on critiques.
Warm regards,
Ram
