[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Greetings from the USA!
Captured outside my cousin's house in Marblehead two days ago sitting on the power lines (the bird, not me ;-)) - they seem to like it up there ;-)
Don't know much about these birds except that they're pretty. I tend to think that it's a barn swallow, but I'm not entirely sure.
It's interesting to see wildlife from another part of the world, but as it's rather cool they seem to be hiding from view. Haven't seen many bugs yet..
I hope colours and brightness etc. are okay, I'm working from my laptop, and I'm not thoroughly impressed with the colours I get on the screen.

Hi Bente, nice to see you around again. I see you take advantage of any situation to get a shot for us. I like better you usual colours, compared to the ones in your laptop, but it is not bad at all. Thanks for caming around again.

Hi Bente. Must be interesting to look for different wildife across the ocean. This looks like a "hirundo rustica". Same as those flying for the two or three last weeks here. I agree with Felipe about colors. It's not your usual quality standard :-), generally softer. It comes a bit harsch on my screen. Very nice pose and precise details. Hope you'll find some rare gems for us during your stay. Have a good time.

Definitely a barn swallow.

Very nice capture Bente and not as bad as you wrote in your mail. Plenty of details in the plumage and the colours look very natural. The composition with the two diagonals is good.

Looks like a barn swallow to me too.

Heelo Bente

Nice to see you back! Very pretty Swallow. Good POV showing his beautiful plumage. I sat a a local pond on Saturday and watched the swallows swoop down and catch bugs above the water. I tried many times to photograph the action, but they all ended up in the reycle bin. These wee birds can really move! Nice work. Thanks

Welcome back. :) I am glad you posted is this colorful critter from the US. The irredisence is very nicely handled. Tack sharp details and lovely colors. My only nit is the phone cable, but then they do not perch on anything else do they... :)

This is great Bente. The POV is super and I love the lighting on the feathers. Really nice details and the colours of the feathers are subtle but stunning. Very well done.

I think you made a good trip near Quebec. You bring back in your laptop some of our friends like this beautifull swallow. We call them 'Hirondelles des Granges' here. Their flight is so great.
The colors are wonderfull and the shapness is excellent. The wire is a little 'shoking' ;-).
It must be interesting to post a picture taken in an other country.
Thank you very much Bente.
