The Rose Robin (Petroica rosea) is robin found in moist forests of south-eastern Australia. It rarely leaves the moist forest to follow riparian vegetation along streams through drier forests in winter. It is insectivorous, feeding almost exclusively in the mid canopy and breeds in spring and summer. It is uncommon throughout its range and is usually found in pairs and small family groups in summer.
I found this male along a stream in Wollami National Park on the western edge of its range.

Very sharp, clear and colourful image of this Robin I have seen for the first time, Chris.
The three colour scheme on its frontal profile is stunningly beautiful.
Thanks for sharing this superb image.

I live in Toronto Canada, and we have Red breasted Robins. I find this Rose Robin very interesting. Very nice picture, TFS.

Hello Chris,
A fine capture of this rare and beautiful Robin. The pose was well taken from a fine POV to show the striking pink breast in contrast with the lead-grey head with good clarity and superb lighting. The composition and Bg add to the quality of this image.
I wish we could have seen this one!
Thanks and have a good week,

Hello Chris,

Very good. pov, sharpnessand detailed image from an Robin that i kmow see for the first time.TFS,
Finenatural colours.

Hallo Chris
What a charming little bird. The rosy coloured feathers on its chest is really very beautiful and is well complimented by the grey and white feathers that is left on this fluff ball. I also very much like the white dot on its forehead. I wonder if it is a Hindoe bird? The detail on the branch and the fine green leaves is a beautiful sight and an additional bonus to a great image which is well rounded of with the flash light caught in the big black eye. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
