Happy New Year to everyone on TN. A bit early, but I am away visiting my daughters.

Today's posting is a White’s Skink (Egernia whitii) is a robust medium sized skink with a snout-vent length of 120mm. It occurs in two forms, this pale version and another all black version. Both forms exist within the same local populations.
This species occurs throughout coastal south-eastern Australian mainland and northern Tasmania. It lives in dry open woodlands and heathlands with extensive rocky outcrops.

Hello Chris!
Nice capture of the skink lizard. I like especially low POV and very good sharpness/DOF. Picture is not very colourful but looks so natural :) Also composition is nice for watching :)
Greetings from Lodz!
And Happy New Year! :)

Hello Chris,
Nice one of White's Skink taken from a great POV on the rock with excellent sharpness and eye contact.
I can imagine these are hard to spot.
TFS and Season's Greetings,

Excellent shot of this interesting Skink, Chris. I like these creatures very much. They look so delicate and harmless.
The front portion of the subject is in super focus. I like the eye in particular.
TFS and regards.

Hi Chirs

Another very beautiful reptile shot from you, mate!
I really like all your shots on this subject and i think it's great that you also focus on them once in a while...few photographers adventure towards them, yet i believe they are amazing and very beautiful.
Here, for example, the texture of its scales is very well shown and look amazing while the pattern draws attention. Surely, that terrific eye - with its yellow ring around it - is the coolest thing!
Great work technically, too: spot-on DOF, very good sharpness and very good exposure balance between the sun lit and shaded parts.
Overall: superb work!

Cheers, TFS and Happy New Year!

Hi Chris,
a great shot of this lizard.
Superb composition.
Great light.
Sharp and detailed.

Well done,

Hi Chris,
First of all happy new year to You and Your family, too! Nice capture, great minimalistic shot of an Australian lizard. I can easily imagine it with the animal in full color and the bg in b/w, but it may violate the terms of TN (this is why I uploaded my dedication to Bayram - boreocypriensis - to TrekLens instead of here, for example). Good photo overall, but the very few colors don't make it really spectacular, from my subjective point of view.
Have fungi-rich 2009, respectful regards from the heart of Europe, László
