EDIT - yes I finally found it. This is the caterpillar of the Melanitis leda bankia or Evening Brown butterfly from the family NYMPHALIDAE.

The butterfly is quite common in Brisbane however this is the first I have seen of its Pupa

I found this beautiful caterpillar while working in my garden today but despite searching for hours I havent been able to identify it. I would appreciate some advice from anyone who has an idea.
I am in Brisbane Australia.

Thank you

I hope you enjoy the image too.

Hallo Grant
A wonderful display of bright colours, prominent black antennas and detail all in one. The fine features of this caterpillar are well displayed in this macro. It was a pleasure to look at this "worm" that was captured with excellency and preciseness. A well deserved smiley and all around thumbs up for great work shared.
Best regards
