[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this underwater photo during a trip to the Great Barrier Reef staying on a Live-a-Board for a week. This was a giant barracuda that was hanging out under our boat when I came up from a dive. Apparently is it fairly common for him to show up at this particular dive site, so he was given a name - Brutus. It seems to fit - he's very big & menacing looking.

We saw lots of barracuda while diving in Australia - sometimes even seeing small schools of them. Brutus was the only extra large one we saw. He was about 5 feet long & most of the others we saw were 2-3 feet long. This photo illustrates how big Brutus is - next to the photographer.

Interesting shot... and well posed by Brutus, you placed him well with the diver.

dear margo, your picture is very nice. it remember me when i saw a barracuda for the first time in sipadan, borneo. i was a little bit scared, more as of sharks... very well done! thanks for posting.

Great shot! I have never tried it but underwater photography must be very difficult. Brutus must like having his picture taken to hang out under the boat all the time. great note.

Dear Margo,
The diver in the photo is a perfect prop :-)

I have not seen Barracudas in the wild and your Brutus is impressive and a glorious participant for "under and above the seas and lakes".

Is such a battery of lamps heavy?

Thanks for sharing your experiences and images
Take care
Ingrid
