[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hi all,

An Osprey wondering why it isn't on a badge or emblem.

got this photo recently up near Cairns, Yorkeys Knob to be exact. Saw this osprey doing some fishing from the mangroves, diving into the water and back up again. I approached, camera in hand, and it took off, leaving me there photoless. I took photo's of other stuff for a minute or 2, when it flew back in, really unimpressed with me being so close. At one stage i thought it was going to swoop at me, when it had it's wings up and was looking at me and screaming. I took some photo's quickly before it left again.

Hello Gethin,
Pandion heliaetus - Osprey also occurs in Turkiye. According to literature, it ranges in most of continents. Nice to see it from your post and to learn in Australia too. Great capture. I like also this pose, it was a nice model for you. Composition, frame, focus, POV, blue BG great. good notes. thanks for sharing.

hello Gethin

superb shot of this Osprey, i love the POV of your image
from down to up, in french they say « en contre-plongé »
»»» translation (if i can do) »»» againts diving

from the POV we can see the Osprey's underpart's excellent details,
i love your appropriate to this image vertical framing
and i love that you leaved a free space where the Osprey is looking

Hello Gethin,

How do you manage to get an osprey to pose for you in this manner?

I like the way its wings droops down exposing the whole body and the head turn is perfect to capture the eye and beaks. The perch is excellent at the tip of the branch against that spotless blue sky.

Well done and please allow me to add this to my personal theme.
