[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This bird was found in the same area as kookaburras featured in previous postings.

This one was remarkably tame, and allowed me to stand within two metres of him/her, and move around to find an angle that I wanted to use to take the photo.

A further photo is on my TL site, which has a more heavily-modified background.

Wonderful close up Peter!
DOF,details,Bg rspecially eyes are perfect.
TFS...:-)

Nice closeup Peter. Sharpness is superb allowing excellent plumage detail. Good eye contact too. Well done. Thanks

Nice shot Pieter!
Sharpness, details and BG are very good.

Very good portrait Peter.
Good exposure, I can see the colours in the eye.
Great sharpness with nice details and good composition.
Very good work.

Very nice close-up of this adorable bird, Peter. Sharp, nice blurred BG, and you handled the whites well with your exposure. Would be nicer perhaps not to have the piece of wood in the foreground, but just a nit. TFS,
-Jenn

Lovely photo Peter, the bird looks so vibrant and healthy - I think because of the shine in its eyes brought out so well by your photo. Technically it is excellent in every way :) I particularly like the detail in the feathers, the sharpness, the composition and the colours.

Great portrait shot of this kookaburras, Peter. I especially like the eye detail and glimmer of light in it. Great composition, lovely plumage, thank you for sharing it with us.

Make it scream, make it scream!
