[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the sheltered gullies of the tall Mountain Ash rain forests in the Strzelecki Ranges Soft Tree ferns and Rough Tree ferns flourish. At this time of year, in middle spring, new shoots start to uncurl. In some cases they are massive to match the size of the final fern. It is wet, muddy, still and chilly. The beauty of the ferns is in contrast to the bloodsucking leeches that wait on them for you to brush the ferns as you pass.

Hi Barry,
they seem to be gigantic, we only have ferns growing to max. 1 meter. A great motive with good DOV and POV. Thanks for sharing

Very photogenic these curly ferns, I thought they were only living in New Zealand but I guess I was wrong. Outstanding detail and depth of field.
