[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Tasmanian Devils (Sarcophilus Harrisii) are carniverous marsupials (related to kangaroos etc). The live only in Tasmania and whilst being carniverous they are actually scavengers and eat other animals kills.
They look very cranky and they do fight amongst themselves a bit which has lead to them having a major problem with a face cancer that is threatening the whole species. Because the bight each other around the face the disease spreads easily.
To save the species there are several captive breeding programs under way which breed up disease free animals fro release into disease free areas such as the small Maria Island off the east coast of Tasmania.
This pair are part of a captive breeding progam at Cradle Mountain.

Critiques [Translate]

Dear Ian,

thanks for the rare picture of these wonderful Tasmanian Devils, thanks also for the detailed note with interesting information. There seems to be a slight color distortion in the pic (too much magenta), it could be corrected in PS. Don't take this as a critique, color distortion can come from the setting on the camera, from a nonadjusted screen or even from my eyes.
My best regards, Dietrich
