The Pied Imperial-Pigeon (Ducula bicolour) is a large (42cm) arboreal pigeon that inhabits the monsoon forests, mangroves and coastal rainforests of tropical northern Australia and its offshore islands. This beautiful pigeon breeds in Australia in colonies between August and January, then migrates across the Timor and Coral Seas to ‘winter’ in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. The nest is unusually substantial for a pigeon, yet only a single egg is laid. They feed on a variety of fruits found in their preferred habitats.
Although relatively common in the Darwin area they are difficult to approach and photograph. This one was captured in the large free-flight aviary at the Northern Territory Wildlife Park.

Chris, It's a great pose with the eye on the camera & composed well. The whites are handled very well also. A little soft but not by much..Well done!

Good capture Chris I love its pose. A little noise in the image but good exposure on the whites. Nice one.

Great pic Chris, the light and the BG are great.
Well... there is not much to say the camera you used is not the best camera and i know how hard it is to work with it but you manage to get an excellent photo!
One more thing, use the softwere NI to clean the photo of it's noise so the picture will be much better!

Such a nice bird and good pose make a good shot. The noise ( not a lot ) spoils the picture IMO just a tad. Otherwise, a very good post

The white feathers are very smooth and well exposed. I like the composition and the pose of the pigeon. There is a bit of noise present, but I do not find it distracting.

What a lovely dove. Great compo, Chris. The details are sharp and although there are some noise present I still find it a very nice photo. I dared a WS to remove the noise.

Chris, what a beautiful and clear shot. The pigeon is extremely beautiful, and is here on a great pose.

The BG highlights the color of the dove.

Another nice dove from OZ. You should consider a Theme on doves. It is nice to have them all together. I like the socks this one is wearing. On the thumnail they looks like rings. Thanks for sharing.
