[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm told that this thing is harmless but it's one of those facts that you really are not too sure about.

This spider was hanging about (sorry) above the pathway people were using to get to a local beauty spot.

No-one noticed him until I started taking pictures, then they started taking a different route.

Now if this is harmless, why did the people start taking detours?

Any ID would be handy.

As happened a lot, I got some very good pix, but I have not much idea on the details of what I photographed. It's a spider!

Très belle photo de cette arachnide Norman.
Netteté assez bonne, dommage pour certains reflets de la lumière.
Felicitations.
Nico.

Well at least it doesn't have a red back... Great composition in 3D with the spider, web and background although a bit soft on the details. Nice light.
Regards. Toni

Another Golden Orb Web spider, Nephila ? The bite is painful but harmful to humans.
Excelent capture and well done on this composition.

Hello Norman, I think that the picture I have of the spider is the same type as this one, although your angle and colors are much more moving. Great work. Giuseppe

Très belle et intéressante macro pour cette superbe araignée sue sa toile. Jolies couleurs et bonne nettté grâce à la profondeur de champ bien maitrisée.
Very Well Done !
