[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hoverflies have a characteristic flight pattern- hovering in one spot, moving suddenly forwards or sideways, then hovering again.

Hoverflies are members of a fly family that have evolved as wasp and bee mimics. They are important as pollinators of plants.

Hoverfly mimicry of wasps can include having a warning colouration of yellow and black, a narrow waist like a wasp and even the ability to mimic the stinging action of a wasp, by pushing the tip of the abdomen into your fingers if they are caught and held. However they do not sting and are quite harmless.

Hello Chi,
Can't express in words the happiness I am experiencing in seeing your brilliant work again. Welcome back!!
What a fantastic double-subject you have captured in mid-flight! The mating Hoverflies are in stunningly sharp focus and all their features and colours are perfectly distinct.
I had captured a single hoverfly in flight in Riyadh, but it was nothing in comparison with what you have done in this great image.
Please keep posting and thanks for sharing this beauty.

Hi Chi,
Wonderful capture!
Perfect details!

this shot is amazing. Perfect timing and excellent sharpness. Colors are great, too.
But the background is a little noisy, I would reduce it.

TFS Tatjana.
