The Pincushion Coneflower (Isopogon dubius) is related to the Proteas of South Africa and to the Australian Banksias and Grevilleas.
There are about 30-40 species of Isopogons, all restricted to Australia and most of them endemic to the South-West of Western Australia.
This particular specimen was growing on a North facing slope in the Perth Hills.

Hello Odile,
A wonderful super macro shot of this lovely coneflower. Nicely presented in fine detail and just the right exposure. Great job of stacking the photos in order to get better DOF and sharp focus. Wish I had a program and the knowledge to do this:)
