|Now I don't know anything much about fungi but I did like the pink colour of this fungi growing on a dead tree in a rainforest near Mission Beach on the north Queensland coast.|

Hi Ian,there is something like that in the forest of my village but obviously i think that isn't the same species..eeeheh...great capture,the sharpness everywhere is a winner,i like the composition too.About my last butterfly,it was very damnaged but i seen just this. Of course it's impossible to identify a species from just one photo, many times it's not possible to identify from photo at all, but I guess you photographed a Trametes, probably Trametes versicolor (L.) Lloyd, a very common species with cosmopolitan distribution. Anyway, microscopic analysation is a must for properly identifying this kind of fungi.
