Macedon is a township set in forest, around 60km from Melbourne. Kookaburras are common in this area, and this one co-operated long enough for me to take this shot.

Very good opening photo!
Nice POV and very interesting BG. Maybe the sharpness isn't perfect, but I like your photo very much.
Well done and welcome to TN :-)

Welcome Peter
I love k'fishers and know how difficult it is to nail them in the wild, very pleasinf shot of this laughing jackass.

Very interesting bird. i like his coiffure ;-)
Nice shot. Thanks.

You captured a moody shot. Well done on this composition.
The background is like a painting. The Kookaburra adds to the effect created in this pic.
Welcome to Trek N.

Mike

Great, funny bird. I like its face and pose. Pity that BG isn't more blurred. Great first shot Peter, welcome to TN!

Ooops, points tomorrow.

Beautiful photo. We have an artist in Canada by the name of Robert Bateman. He paints scenes very much like this. I have always admired his work and I think I try for his art in my photos. I have a heron photo that is the same sort of dark, mysterious, foggy feel to it. I like this very much, looking forward to seeing more!

Très belle image et superbe contraste

A bit dull and dispixelate but not far from perfect kooka ! Another good one !
