[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A mature male Tropical Rockmaster (Diphlebia euphoeoides), one of the largest damselflies from the family Diphlebiidae. Previously I posted the immature male (here), on this mature male you can see the blue colouring becomes more intense and the wings become black.

This species has an adult phase that lasts for up to six months. They live along larger streams where adult males perch on boulders, hence the common name. Occasionally adults move into adjacent rainforests to hunt prey.
This was taken in Mosman Gorge National Park

Hi Chris

Another splendid picture from you!
This damselfly is simply amazing with its charming colors and great contrast between some sections on it body.
I also like the "secoundary" contrast here - between the damsel and teh charming BG - which, tofether with the excellent DOF, isolated the subject very nicly.
Some small parts are maybe a little overexposed, but no big deal, otherwide the picture is simply great!

Bravo and TFS

Hello Chris,
Nice to see the Rockmaster again! Good details and lovely colours against the dark background. Focus could be better and it is also rather overexposed but I like the composition a lot.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hi Chris,

Salut Chris
Magnifique photo et excellente nettetée, belle composition et superbes couleurs. Très joli contraste entre le bleu et le vert. Votre fond flou fait bien ressortir la libellule.
Félicitations et au revoir...JP

Hi,
The mattalic colors are stunning here and the POV is good too.
The body seems to be overexposed, but overall picture is excellent

Hi Chris, very interesting insect. It's like a halfway house between a dragon and a damsel. Nice and simple composition works well to show off this creature. Good colours too and you did a good job of the exposure in what looks like quite harsh sunlight. Good stuff!

Hello Chris,
It's been a while. :-)
I like this Diphlebia spp. very much.
You've got very nice photos of them.
Very nice pose of D. euphoeoides with beautiful colors.
Excellent details and POV, DOF and composition are also great.
Well done and TFS,
Regards,
Kevin

Hello Chris,
From my winter I appreciate to admire this "Libellule"
The "+++" : subject, pose, point of view, sharpness, DOF, blurred background, colors, note...
The "-" : blue spots seem over-exposed...
Congratulations my friend and thanks for sharing.
