Naultinus grayii (Bell, 1843)
Northland Green Gecko

The colour of the dorsal surface is vivid green and often displaying grey or gold coloured markings on either side along the dorsal edges. The males have a blue band along the sides just below the limbs. The ventral surface of both sexes is bright pale green, sometimes with a yellow tinge. The inside of the mouth is deep blue with a bright red tongue. Total length < 200mm and SVL would be 95mm.

Found in the far north of the North Island, from Whangaroa to Cape Reinga.

Diurnal habit, often found sun-basking. The young are born in autumn, although in captivity births have been recorded much later in the year.

Arboreal, most commonly found in stands of manuka, kanuka and mingimingi

In this shot we can be in no doubt of the ID of these geckos. The white patterns on the smaller one and the red tongue of the large (out of focus) one are a dead giveaway.
Once again,I have my good friend Gareth to thank for letting me photograph his beautiful geckos, and the New Zealand Herpetological Society website for the information.

They are a spectacular species and the one on the right is well captured. I would have been tempted to crop the left one out, but that's just my opinion.
Great composition, green on green, works well.
Are you sure they're not plastic toys :)
