White Backed Magpie on our back lawn.
Introduced to New Zealand in the 1860s. Breeds twice a year 2 to 5 eggs usually feeds on insects worms and has been known to raid other birds nests for eggs.
Will defend their nests and territory by dive bombing intruders including humans have been known to draw blood.
