[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Kea (Nestor notabilis) are an endemic parrot of the South Island's high country. Although kea are seen in reasonable numbers throughout the South Island, the size of the wild population is unknown - but is estimated at between 1,000 and 5,000 birds.
Known for their raucous cries of "keeaa" often give away the presence of these highly social and inquisitive birds. However, their endearing and mischievous behaviour can cause conflict with people. |

Bonjour Sue,
Merci pour tes commentaires et ton humour, ainsi que pour cette jolie photographie de perroquets.
Les couleurs sont très jolies et la position des oiseaux très ..... amoureuse.

Hallo Sue
The details you captured on the plumage of these Keas are truly lovely, and the colours are just as beautiful. When one look closely one can see such an assortment of fine colours and not only the overall green colour. The detail of their paws and nails, especially the one in the front is also seen with great clarity. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hello Sue,
This is just so beautiful and cute. With not many of them around I wonder whether they are under threat. Very pleasant to view. Best wishes.
