Beautiful macro shot Steve! Colors are very good.
I'm also expecting to make some beautiful butterfly shots but I haven't seem any around yet.In Istanbul for about three weeks;on working days weather is sunny and at the weekends claudy.Very annoying!

Nice shot of this plump caterpillar. We have a huge amount of Monarch Butterflies winging their way around here at present. Has this guy got himself attached ready to become a chrysalis or is he simply eating? Hope you can photography a series as it evolves into the butterfly. Good post Steve. TFS

Hi steve - good macro of a nice caterpilar ;-) Beautifull colors, good DOF and we can see many details. Well done !
Did someone say : ,,From head to toes,, ... ahem, ahem, may I go that low and question where the rear end is on this colorful creature ? :)
P.S. Great shot - just wish for the saturation to be a slight notch better...

Steve, what a good clear macro shot of the caterpillar. Good POV with him eating away on the leaf. Well done.
I hope you will follow his progress - if you can find where he hangs his chrysalis. Our tree is bare now.

Wow ! You'd think he was a metre long. Which is his head and which is his tail ? Pity you weren't lucky enough to get a ray of sunshine on him to brighten him up a bit. Great shot anyway.

A very interesting and beautiful caterpillar. I wonder which part is the head? A little bit underexposed but every detail can be seen clearly.
Thank you for sharing.

Great shot of a beautiful caterpillar. The food plants they are on are so amazing with the spiky pods. This guy looks like he is enjoying a good munch on the leaves. Lovely angle you have shot him from.
Hi Steve. My comment is the WS.
Thanks.

It's not only the butterfly itself that's beautiful. It looks like something I could find underwater here in the Red Sea.
Good details and colours, maybe you should have cropped and rotated the picture a little so that the caterpillar would be less vertical.

Hey Steve, what a nice "Fat Cat" you got here. The exposure is a bit low key and I might have considered composing it on the diagonal. Great shot none the less. Well done.

You've managed to make this guy look like a giant.
I love it!
