Beautiful butterfly Pam! So dainty and exquisite and VERY clear. I think it might be a Dryas Julia, look at it's website. www.npwrc.usgs.gov/resource/ distr/lepid/bflyusa/tx/60.htm
It is paler but seems to have the same markings.

A really delicate image, beautiful. The colours and background are amazing. If you don't get an ID and I have time this weekend I will have a look for you. Great detail.

A very good macro Pam.Great colour and composition.
I don't know the butterfly,but I'm very excited to hear about this new centre in Auckland.I hope I can get up there with the kids sometime.
