[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I hope I have written the name correctly. It's the Maori name of the tree which in New Zealand is called the New zealand Christmas tree, because it blossoms around Christmas. (It's summer time then...) I like the flowers with their red color so Ive tried a close up. It was a analog picture, which I scanned and tried with PS to get some of the original colors and sharpness back.

Hi Liesbeth, you were nearly right - Pohutukawa is it's name. You show the flowers all out in blossom and then the new buds ready to open. Lovely. The buds and some leaves are a bit overexposed, but you've caught the magic of the beautiful show of red at Christmastime. This last summer was the best season I have ever seen of these wonderful blooms. They went on and on. I have posted a few photos of them in TN, if you are interested in seeing them. The tree is an amazing 'character'. I like your composition. Well done.
