Hi Tony,

You are so lucky to have a butterfly house. There is an exhibition here once a year and that's it. Beautiful monarch and a lovely flower. Wonderful details showing off the lovely markings and nice colors. This close-up is superb.

Beautiful butterfly. Really nice composition and lighting. Great focus right where it should be. There is a butterfly house about 200 miles from me, but I have not made a trip there yet. I hope to soon. Best regards

Great detail and pose. The flowers are a great inclusion, the ribs in the leaves echo the ribs in the butterfly's wings

You're doing well with the butterflies now!
Maybe I'd increase DOF with one single step here, to achieve sharpness also in the wing tips?
The head area is perfect, and I like the diagonal created by the floewr!

DOF is a bit shallow but the shutter speed is already low so you chose the right settings :)

I am so pleased you are doing more of these butterflies now...I suppose it is becuase you are still in summer....well it is beautiful as you know and can capture as you did here..which brings up a question many would like to know...what is fall like in New Zealand? Is it colourful as here in the US? Great image guy!

This is one of my favourite butterflies,nice to see them in January.There is a tim eof the year here when they fly south and the skies are filled with them,difficult to drive the car without killing them.
Excellent POV and DOF.
The colours are natural and well saturated.

Amazing subject and very nice picture. Main objects and BG are wonderful. So many attractive details, excellent colours, and pleasant soft light. DOF is a little bit shallow. Tips of wings are soft a bit but it is not a point. TFS and best regards.
