A very pretty Funi Steve. Love the colours, they seem to work well together, with the deep orange and the browns just helping to highlight the fungi better. Your eye isnt distracted to much and the fungi,, definately is the centre of attention. I also like the fact that you can see more in the background giving the image a sense of depth.

Very natural and warm colors. You made a good choice about not using flash. Nice composition. Interesting and pretty specimen of fungi.

You’re fungi photographs that you have been posting is really remarkable, and this orange one is no exception. I do not have much knowledge about fungi and because of that I prefer not to give my comments on these kinds of postings. I can however not let this beauty pass without adding my little comment for what it is worth. A well composed image with good and clear details. The dark background emphasise the details and colour of the fungi even more. A splendid image indeed. Trek Nature is without a doubt a very interesting and most educational site. Not a day will pass that I don't see or learn something new. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.

p.s I will email you instructions on how to make an adapter for your raynox sometime this week... you might want to get a 52-43mm step-down ring which will allow you to fix the raynox to your camera.

Hi Steve,
I don't know the specie, unfortunately. I like the pic, I mean compo's great, but I feel the orange tone's a bit too strong. It's really difficult to say about a specie which I can't identify, but this is my feeling. I played a bit with white balance, check out the WS, please.
Except for this dose of orange I like the photo as it is. Tfs.

Hi Steve,
I just came across this its definitely a Hygrocybe but I don't have a clue which. What I did noticed was the back ground is very red but I see now Laszlo has mentioned this why has it taken 8 critiques before some one has mentioned this!! I also dont like all the other fruiting body's in the back ground just a little distracting. Cheers Clive

I agree with Clive and Laszlo, it looks too redish and their workshop tones are better; can't help with the ID beyond the genus you suggest.
The composition is fine and I guess you used the mini-tripod at f8, though not sure what 10/32 means in the more photo info window.
Well done anyway, good sharpness.
