Another look at this impressive white bolete, which is often found in southern beech forests.
I have found a considerable number of these Austroboletus at Coal Creek near Runanga.
They seem to grow well in the same areas as the large black bolete Tylopilus formosus.

In the autumn I'm looking forward to getting some better shots of these using my new learned techniques.
Hope you like this one for now.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,

good picture of this White bolete, I like the drops.
I think you have the picture turned 45 degrees?
You have an good dof with F2.8.

Hi Steve

Pehaps a little dark, but they are a great species, I was impressed when we found them in April - seems like only yesterday. Great sharpness and composition.

Hope you and your family have a safe and happy festive season.

Chris

Hi Steve,
a superb shot of this mushroom.
Very good sharpness.
Excellent composition.
Great DOF.

Well done mate!

Joe

Merry Christmas!

Hi Steve,
I like the photo, the bolete's very nice, but You should have given more contrast through PP. Not a bad photo at all (the textures of the stem is simply wonderful, for example), but seems like non-postprocessed. Have a look at my WS, please.
The current scientific name of this specie is Fistulinella nivea.
Have a nice Christmas, László
