Hi Steve,
Wonderful ring (and photo) of the so-known 'fairytale-mushroom'. Great sharpness, colors and lights. Cropping is a bit narrow on the top, but most probably You tried to hide a fence or so.
Good to see with my eyes that this specie's cosmopolitan. :)

That is one amazing display you've got in your garden! Do you have a birch or larch tree growing nearby? This is a great picture - vivid colours, good POV and a nice DOF.

Hallo Steve
I admire you guys taking photographs of fungi. I am sure you have a special skill to do so. I saw a few fungi a while ago while walking in a nature reserve but just could not a decent photograph with the correct depth of field, composition and overall clarity and threw in the towel. You have captured these mushroom stools with great clarity. The details of the texture is very clearly seen. I like the green grass that surrounds the fungi and the dried leaves on the surface. It makes the whole scenery alive. All the best for 2009 and thanks for your valuable input on the site in the past.
