[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A couple of days ago I posted a photograph of one of New Zealands unusual primitive filmy ferns,Trichomanes reniforme, the Kidney Fern.
In my note,I described how the sunlight shines through the leaves of these ferns, and Bob suggested that everyone would want to see it....so here it is.

If you want to read more about the species,or see a closer shot, please look at my last post here

I'll go out over the next week or so and see if I can't get a few more shots like this.

Hope you like it Bob ;)
Cheers
Steve

Steve-

Many thanks, and yes I like it. Didn't expect such a quick response to my comment, but no complaints from me. I would probably be in there nice and close, experimenting with some supermacro shots into the sun, like my "sweet maple light". Not sure if your Lumix or other gear can do this, but the kidney fern leaf has serious potential in that area. When we get some greenery again here (ferns soon I hope) I'll be trying some shots like that.

Hope you enjoy your coming trips out shooting- looking forward to seeing some interesting stuff.

Best regards,

Bob

Hi Steve,

I'm so glad Bob asked to see this. I loved this fern in your last shot but it is even more spectacular with the sun shining on it. I'll have to return to Australia just to see this Kidney Fern.

Jane

Hi Steve,
An awesome capture of these kidney ferns with excellent transperancy to sunlight shines and charing atmosphere.
Very well composed shot...
TFS and happy Easter!
Bayram

A beautiful fern species indeed Steve, the contra-sunlight makes them glow like chinese paper lanterns, an effect perfectly reproduced in your fine capture. Bob will love this, I'm sure.
Cheers,
Mehmet

Hi Steve,
yes it is lovely and the perspective too is great. The glowing leaves are superbs with formation of shadows and lines of trees in the Bg.
I also like your point of view that show the snail's eye in the ravine or a cliff.
well composed .

regards,
foozi
