The morepork or Ninox novaeseelandiae,is NZ's native owl, not often seen during day. Preferred roosting in Karaka trees. We have at least one at our place in Plimmerton. |

Hi Murry,
Good to see you here on TN. I've been away myself,but I'd like to do more now, i've got plenty of new stuff to post.
This is a great capture of a young Morepork.
Being nocturnal,it can be pretty hard to get close to them in a half decent light. You were lucky here and made the most of it. Cool !

Great image Murry, Steve is so right, owls and such are difficult to capture as the light is often subdued around their roost. Well done with this one great exposure around the birds face
