This is the shore at low tide about 15 kilometres north of where I live in Greymouth. As you can see, the rocks are covered in healthy edible seaweed, and further out, hundreds of thousands of mussels crowd the outer reef.
The rock pools are full of sea anemone, giant reef stars, and small fish.
I even saw a huge octopus in a rock pool just before taking this picture.
The geology around here is amazing. Quartz, coal, jasper, and many other rocks form conglomerates on the shore that resemble lolly cake.
I'll post some pics of those later.
Hope you enjoy this one.
It's one of several of mine that they showed on TV One here in New Zealand yesterday morning :)
Thanks for looking.

Hello Steve,
such an amazing view. Full of diversity and to me it is a superb sharing.
I wish the situation will be on and on till forever.
it is a view that not every place has, especially my coastal areas are filled with mud. not much sea creatures seen.
Very well done and congratulations for having in TV.

An enchanting view of the rocky shore, Steve.
What impresses me the most is the kind of slanting light that illuminates the view. Looks like the sunset time to me.
Thanks and regards.

Hi Steve!

Your sensitive eye. the evening (or morning) light, together with a low point of view, creates a superb landscape picture. I particularly like the atmosphere and the lighting with the mystic effect. It's emotional and touching...

Kind regards

Hallo Steve,
