Bumble Bee on a Cosmos Flower

New Zealand sees the New Year in before any other country in the world. Now 2007 is nearly 23.40 hours hours old!!

I saw this Bumble Bee today in Albert Park in Auckland City and it is quite a while since I had seen any flying around where I live. I was beginning to think that they had completely disappeared.

Anyhow, here is a bright happy summery flower to cheer you all up - the gardens were full of these wonderful flowers today.

So ENJOY this flower and bumble bee, and Happy New Year to all my TN friends,

HI Janice,
I hope you had a wonderful start into the New Year. In Germany the year is now nearly 12 hours old and I hope it will be the best year ever for everybody. I love your colourful shot, so sharp, so beautiful. Unbeleavable for me to celabrate Christmas and the New Year in summer, our weather is cold and very windy, but no snow.
All the best for you, bye and greetings
Sabine - wishnugaruda

hello Janice,
You start the year with a very bright picture of this bumble bee on wonderful flowers. Amazing to see all these colours ; we have rather dull coloration here, not even snow.
Best regards and a Happy New Year

Hello Janice,
Very nice NY shot: sharp and well presented with the bumblebee contrasting well with the Cosmos Flower.
For us northerners in January this is a cheerful sight that makes one look forward to light and warmth. Now we're in for a hurricane.
TFS and best wishes.

Hi Janice

Simply beautiful, both the bee and the flower. By the look of all those pending butts you are still going to experience an amazing display from this patch of cosmos flowers.

What a joyful splash of colour to invite us to look and appreciate, and it obviously had to be like a magnet for that little bee? This close-up is super sharp and very well presented in a lovely composition. The DOF engulfed the entire range of the flower plus more although it did render some of the BG softly focused and so enhanced the exquisite flower. The natural light gave this shot delicate yet rich tones and you managed the exposure quite masterfully.

Very well done and TFS.
Kia Ora my friend and God bless.

l'exposition est bien maitrisée malgres le soleil qui a l'air vraiment present, les couleurs tres vives.la netteté impeccable.

Hallo Janice
I really like this image. What a delightful and sunny view. The details of both the cosmos flower and the bee are just stunning and I cannot say one is better than the other. The combination of colours of both the fly and the flower is a lovely combination and creates a most appealing and bright sight. I like the way you fit the flower in the frame, makes the details more closely to observe and appreciate. I like the fine detail of the wings that is so cleary shown. I also always appreciate a image with flowers containing unopened blossoms. It just does it for me. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
