I'm not sure this is a beech forest or not, i took this one on Croesus Track, Paparoa National Park, just under the forest line.

HI Che, this looks more like a dead forest. I'm not sure if its beech or not, sorry. Very interesting shot though showing all the growth and shapes of the trees. Well done!

Hi Che your reference to "just under the forest line" is a little confusing as to were you mean but by the look at those tress I feel you are referring to just below the snow line. The beech don't grow to big in such hostile locations and as the photo shows are generally covered in moss and lichens. Interesting photo my interest in lichens was first started after I spent a few hours is such a habitat.
