My first Damselfly... and in this case a beautiful exemplar of 50mm. of length.

Like in other so many species of which they live here, it is not easy its classification due to the lack of publications on the same ones.

I can say to them that with the arrival of the spring, I have seen many of these specimen and the same of of blue color (that already I will publish) of exactly the same dimensions and forms... I do not discard that one is the same species and am consequence of the dimorphism between both sexes.

I persecuted it by different places, treating to locate its place of rest (so small and thin of a colorful one thus, it became very difficult to see).

Finally, I managed to approach to me and "to do friend to me", when I discovered that it had captured a prey that was eating with avidity.

Of that form, I obtained the first image producing shade with my own body (inevitable) and once verified that had an image that would serve, animates to me to rotate around the insect, with the fear that disappeared of immediate... luckyly was not thus and the sample is the second image front to the insect.

I hope you like it.

ANd what a great job you did as a first go! Excellent presentation Ricardo. The two views are very nice. It is especially good to get your first one sitting sown to his dinner. Good work, and good note. Thanks for posting.

Very well done. I like the composition in this post. It is horrible what these europeans are doing to us, having to chace after these small things that does not sit still:) Congratulations

Congratulations on your first damsel.
Nicely presented shots and with very good composition and detail.
Excellent work,well done.

What a lucky first, not only did you get a damselfly, you even got one with a prey.. ;-))
Nice and sharp capture with very good colours. Interesting colour combination that we don't see around here, so pity it's not possible to ID this little fellow.

And I am happy for you that you did witha prey. Nice composition showing whole insect and then zoom in. Excellent posting. TFS.

Think you did very well with this. I too shot my 1st Damsel this week & it was not easy. Looks like a cricket for the meal. Great side by side Ricardo! P.S. I have to say mine is better looking with more color variation but you've got me beat with the mouthful like this!!

Comme elle drôle et belle avec ses grands yeux cette libellule ! Jolie cliché !
Well done !

Cómo es afortunado usted está en su país para tener resorte apenas el llegar. Pronto habrá nieve en Canadá, y entonces donde encontramos insectos. Esto es un cierre muy bueno para arriba de su primer damselfly, especialmente pues está comiendo. Pozo hecho, Ricardo.

How fortunate you are in your country to have Spring just arriving. Soon there will be snow in Canada, and then where will we find insects. This is a very good close up of your first Damselfly, especially as it is eating. Well done, Ricardo.

Felicidades.

Very nice Ricardo.
Your first damsel is great.
Good composition and good sharpness.
Well done.

Congratiolation Ricardo,
Very nice first one, good details with the shot, and very nice capture, well done.

I must say these 2 images of this female damselfly are as good if not better as any we see on TN. No idea of the type though sorry.
