Family: Araneidae

My first spider... specimen aprox. 15mm. of length (only the body).

I believe that one is the Araneus genus... although I could not identify the species, since like in other opportunities, there is not much information available in Argentina.

He was on the brink of a way, on the line of high grass to 40cm. of height and the detail is that to less than 1 meter, I found the moult of its body recently abandoned.

By the position in which one was, it was impossible to me to across capture an image of the body of the animal... whenever it tried to approach me by the opposed side, when being above the grass, the spider disappeared automatically without possibility of portraying it.

I only could do placing it the arm extended behind her, which I present like WORKSHOP, that although the image of the spider is not the best one, I obtained a picture where some small prey entangled in their web is appraised and more back 2 specimens of the same species of Lady Beetle of published do few days, equals to that it finished capturing and "to envelop for gift".

I hope you like it.

Great DOF on this spider, Ricardo. Nice composition. Very clear. I like the transparency of the legs. Good job. TFS.

Ricardo, looks just like my Orb Weaver, a common Garden Spider. It's a good shot with good detail & DOF with most of the legs in. Not bad for your 1st spider!! I think every species behaves in ways that can make shooting them a challenge. I'm studying the tarrantula at the moment..now to find one!

Pour une premiere c'est vraimentg jolie Ricardo !
la vue de dessous est peut habituelle ce qui donne un charme particulier a ta photo. la nettete est bonne et les couleur aussi ( noir et orange sont tres bien assortis.

Very good Ricardo
Good DOF , and nice colours and good details.
Good note too.
Well done.

I think you are right about the family, but which species?

Very nice work, good colours and DOF, I feel it could have been a tiny bit sharper though. Excellent note. Thanks Ricardo.

I see you do not mess around either! Quite a nice size specimen. How about one of your bird eating spiders? Paul would like that one! Very pleasing compo, colours & texture.

I really like this shot.
Composition, colours and sharpness are spot on.
But for the ID... South america is too far...
Good work, thanks.

Nice first capture of this spider, good focus, light and DOF and a nice, juicy prey to top it all off.
