Cassida is a large genus of tortoise beetles in the subfamily Hispinae. Several species of Cassida are important agricultural pests, in particular C. vittata and C. nebulosa on sugar beet and spinach. The thistle tortoise beetle (Cassida rubiginosa) has been used as a biological control agent against Canada thistle.

This specimen was photographed in Santo Tome, Santa Fe, ARGENTINA. I tried to reach you by your image on the internet but I could not. I would appreciate if a fellow achieved his ID.

Interesante escarabajo, desconocido para mi, aunque parecido en cuanto a su forma a algunos que he visto en mi región.
La nitidez es perfecta, permitiendo apreciar la textura.
