[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here we see a magnificent female "country carpenter", wearing the yellow egg that beautifies plumage his neck, throat and chest. Right now the bird is to take off the trunk, pay attention to your entire body tensed and his head and beak pointing like an arrow in the direction that will fly.

We know that this is a female because the line of the cheek (which ends in the birth of the peak) is blackish color. If a male, this line would be dark red blood.

Hello Ish

Hi Hernan, now this one is not only very good but amazing! I feel lucky to not this species.

So if we come to Argentina, we will find you ha for birding :)

Hello Hernan! So lovely to see a flicker which is so different from the species we have here in Canada. She is a beauty! I like how the yellow on her neck is mirrored in the background leaves. Interesting how she is standing astride the trunk, an unusual pose. The "country carpenter" is a very apt description, with the hammering that they do. Well done! Thank you, Linda

Hello Hernan,
What a gorgeous bird you have presented to us, and one in which I am not familiar with. It's body features remind me a lot of our Red-bellied Woodpeckers and Flickers we have here in Ohio, although it's plumage is quite different in color. Nicely framed and displaying beautiful colors. A real beauty!
