Eriopis connexa

This species was described by Germar like Coccinella connexa in 1824, and later like 16-postulata by Latreille in the "Voyage de Humbolt ET Bonpland", in 1833. Brèthes tried to reahabilitar this second names like valid, arguing that this book appeared in fascículos, and fascículo that includes 16-pustulata appeared in 1813. Nevertheless, this argument was not accepted by any of the later authors. Dejean, in 1834 also described the species, this time like clathrata Hippodamia. It was Mulsant, in 1850 who located it in the Eriopis sort, created by the same one. Its vital cycle actively has been studied, and takes around a month in being developed completely. The larva reaches around 8 mm in its maximum size. In addition to to be excellent afidófaga, has been mentioned it like a pregiver of red arañitas. Of feeding predominantly afidófaga, in valleys of Arica has been Vista feeding itself on the red arañita Tetranychus desertorum, in alfalfa and tomatillo. In this zone of relatively desert atmosphere, is it practically activates throughout the year.

Hola Hernan,
Composición prevista muy agradable, buena y gran tiro. Felicitaciones. Tengo gusto simplemente de BG y de colores.

nice shot. the blurred bg adds to the look of the picture. cropping can be done to make the insect more prominent in the composition. posted a workshop.

Amicalement Thomas

nice image...lovely color but I find a bit pitty that the bug is not on the right side which light is coming from...
but anyhow this is a nice image!

Dear Hernan, this is a perfect macro with extra sharp details. The colors look a little yellowish to me but it also helps the light's magical effect in the picture.
Best regards,

Hi Hernan,
This is a colorful macro! Colors are well saturated and this is a good composition. I think that the insect could be a little sharper though but overall, this is well done with good DOF. Thanks,

Hi Hernan.
What a nice macro shot in yellow key. The colours and blurriness of the BG are great. I think the light is perfect and unusual. The composition of your shot is excellent as well details of the bug. Perfect done. TFS.
