Shaggy Beetle on Dandelion Flower

An urgent depilation for here please!!!

An insect coleopteron of approximately 12mm. that regrettably I could not identify up to now with the characteristic of having the entirety of the body full with very long hair, including their elytra.

The elytra serves as protection for the posterior wings that are immediately under and that they are used to execute the flight.
In some cases the elytra are united, stopping the insect without capacity to fly.
They also have a balance function during the flight.

In the case of this species, they are very flying moving of flower in flower with enough speed, like you can view in Workshop that I include where an specimen begins the unfolding of your wings.

Beetles are the most diverse group of insects. Their order, Coleoptera (meaning "sheathed wing"), has more described species in it than in any other order in the animal kingdom.
Forty percent of all described insect species are beetles (about 350,000 species), and new species are regularly discovered.
Estimates put the total number of species, described and undescribed, at between 5 and 8 million

These species present a great diversity among them, among which the phytophagous that can form plagues.
The larvae cause most of the agricultural and forest damages.

I will wait the collaboration of TN friends to be able to identify the likeable protagonist of this scene.

I hope you like it J

Buenos dias Ricardo,
a nice composition of this hairy beetle within the flower. I like the general composition and in particular the single delicate structures of the flower emmerging from the blurred 'underground'. Point of view and focus are perfect. Bright sun light makes it always difficult to present glossy surfaces of dark coloured beetles. I will start experiments with a new polarization filter in next spring.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Ricardo,
A superb macro! The composition and framing are flawless. You have managed the bright sunlight very well. Your exposure settings have brought out the most beautiful colors and tack sharp detail. I have never observed this hairy one, so I can not help with the ID.
Excellent camera work my friend!

Hi Ricardo

Another very beautiful macro work from you with you charming compact camera. I must say that i'm very curios what kind of amazing macro you would pull out of a SLR if you had any...i'm sure that would be nothing less than stunning!
BTW...i'm curious, did you ever consider buying one?
Anyway, this little beetle looks very interesing with all those hairs on it's body. A depilation...HAHAHA :)) oh yes...you're right...it need one :))
The details here are remarcable, the colors are lovely and the contrast between the insect and the flower it's one is great!
Very good POV nad DOF, too, as well as the exposure which is very well managed.
Very nicely composed and presented (i also like the way you give all these nice information on the photographing technique).

Bravo and TFS

Hello Ricardo,
Awesome details in this fine close-up!
Lighting is well managed through a fine esposure, giving a fine result both for insect and flower...
Well composed presentation!

Hello Ricardo,
I think it's a kind of cardinal beatle.Very well caught, framed and composed.Details, sharpness and colors are also wonderful.Excellent work!

Quite an interesting bug, Ricardo. "Shaggy" is the right word you have chosen to describe it.
A brilliant macro from you as usual. The swath of yellow flower interspersed with those stamen or whatever you call it makes a fine BG for the insect.

Hola Ricardo,
Impresionante foto!

Cavidad procoxal externamente abierta a cerrada e internamente abierta.

saludos CARLOS

Hi Ricardo,
As usual a stunning macro with outstanding composition and brilliant Pov. Detail is excellent even though you had to contend with harsh light conditions. Just one question for you - Why do you leave the W/B setting on auto? That way the camera takes a very conservative reading that tends to effect colour rendition. Putting the W/B setting on daylight really adds punch to the colours.
TFS and for the excellent note
