Hello dear TN friends,

As I told you here is one more dragonfly (black tie version), but today not exactly the kind of pic I'd like to show (as a high quality), but as a curiosity, since I never see before.

I found this one beside the Road during a short traffic blackout and I’m always with my equipment …

So I hope you like this one too and have a nice day. See you at TN!

PS: Since its flight is slow, could it be a kind of butterfly?

Dear Farncisco!

You are absolutely right, sometimes the originality or the curiosity are more important than the quality. We all know your usual high quality!

This picture is as surprising as amazing, and it would not surprise me if it's really a first on TN. The insect looks strange, I would never imagine a black dragonfly.

Thank you for presenting it here!

Kind regards

Hola Francisco,
Unusual dragonfly ...
Very beautiful colors.Excellent composition and details.
Best wishes,

Hi Francisco!

Quality ain't so bad here, we can see the details well - did you mean the slightly grainy bg? that can be treated easily. Dispite the high sensitivity the main subject doesn't suffer from detail loss at this size and I don't see any other quality issues either.

It is amazing to see such a black dragonfly - I have never seen this species before. It looks really awesome! Looks like the wings were thicker than usually at dragonflies, it makes it look very strong. TFS!

Hi Francisco.
I have never met this species before. It is splendid. And its pose on a dry stem is wonderful. Colouration of the BG is very attractive. Green strip on the top of the shot gives it some charm. TFS and kind regards.

Hi Francisco!

An interesting shot, I do not think that we have this in TN before! ... seems to me may be under Diastatops genus, but I'm not entirely sure.

Any way, it's a really "Lord Darth Vader" of the dragonfly word! :)

I hope some of the "Masters of ID's" in TN can be provide correct identification.

Hello Francisco,
This is really an amazing dragonfly, it's the first time I see a dark one like this, must come out of the underground...In your part of the world there are still so many creatures to discover, must be very exciting to be one of the first to photograph them. Just most interesting posting!
Thanks and kind regards

Hi Francisco

A fantastic discovery! Did you ever find a name? No doubt the versatility in the insect world seems to be unlimited.
