A transparent butterfly. The detail here is that I didn't use flash, I got but I had to use 1/50 with f/2, without tripod... the one that the times don't help in details. Usually the transparent wings with the light of the flash give some reflexes iridescent hue, which a lot of people find strange!
The only treatment was in NI!
Did I like the composition and you?

Greta oto is one of a number of similar transparent winged butterflies. It comes from central America, and is found from Mexico to Panama. It is quite common in its zone, but it not easy to find because of its transparent wings, which is a natural camouflage mechanism.

Family: Nymphalidae
Genus: Ithomiinae
Latin name: Greta oto
Common name: The Glasswing

Great macro, Jose. I saw some of these glasswing butterflies in Costa Rica, but was not successful at getting a good picture of one. I know it is really hard to get this one right. You captured it with sharp details and good exposure and excellent composition. Well-done!

Although not as sharp as it could be, the composition and subject are very interesting. Good job overall with the condition you faced.

It's a wise choice to shot this transparent beauty without flash. Very good result at such light conditions.
Very nice colors at the background.
Thank you for sharing.

Nice composition, good details and soft colours. It's just framed a bit too tight in front of thr fly.
Well done.
TFS.

Nice shot Jose. You did very well for this type of shooting technique..Not my way but sometimes to get the shot you do what you have to do! Space front would improve the shot. Well done!

Jolies couleurs. Manque un peu de netteté.
Nice picture !

Maybe could have been a bit sharper, but its still an interesting post. I like the composition and contrast of the butterfly with the flower and OOF background.

Que borboleta mais linda!!!
Show de composição.

This is a pretty picture. I love the soft pastel colors in it. Composiiton and framing are good, but I would prefer the butterfly to be in the other half of the frame so there is more space in front than behind the insect. The image is a little bit soft, but since you did at f/2, 1/50 sec and no tripod, you did very good. In such a case, I prefer to make a soft image than no image at all.
Very good picutre and TFS.

Josy

Oh..... so superb, beautiful...

Hi Jose, beautiful butterfly and colors of the pic, but I think it could be a little more sharp, esp. the body of the insect.
