COATI (nashua nashua )
Derived from Tupi language, spoken by Brazilian Indians, its name means ’’pointed nose ‘’
It has diurnal habits, and usually sleeps on trees, where it makes its nests.
Varying from gray to brown,this ringed tail mammal is found in groups of 4 to 30 ;
Coati is the typical animal of the Southern region of Brazil.
I have seen big groups of coatis in the bush around the falls but this photo was taken in the garden of the hotel Das Cataratas.

Hello Albert,
An excellent portrait of a Coati well presented on the hotel lawn with a nice top framing of the red-leaved bushes. The pose, sharpness and low POV are excellent and the composition is very pleasing.
TFS this fine image,
Ivan

Excellent capture of this beautiful little animal not often seen here! I like its pose sniffing on the ground. Fine sharp details and natural colours. Well composed too with the beautiful red leaves included.

Hi Albert

Yes, I saw quite a few of these in Costa Rica, but never really got a good shot of one. They were always very busy when we saw them, not good models :)
Good composition
Good sharpness and POV
Love that long upright tail

Chris

Coati is a new animal for me, Albert, and hence a great source of joy.
I like the way you have captured it with its bushy tail up.
Great image for which you deserve congratulations.
Warm regards,
Ram

Hi Albert

This ringed tail Coati is an animal which I never had the opportunity to capture, not in the wild (obviously) neither in a zoo. So, it is great to see moments like these from people like you who have the privilege to see these mammals in their natural habitat or even moments like this where it was one of the un-paying, but probably welcome guests.

Seems like it was totally unaware of you while it when sniffing about the law seeking for a morsel to eat. The low POV (so to say at grass roots level) is great and presents a good view of the animal. The DOF was narrow, but sufficient to ensure good details of the subject while isolating the FG and the BG. Good colour saturation too.

Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot
