The species occurs in South America from Equador to north Argentina.

Evasive species. High sensitivity to approximation.

High afternoon, cloudy day, flash off, handheld.

In most cases males butterflies have less straight wings, more intense colors and longer bodies than females butterflies.

Hallo Paulo
What a beautiful butterfly. It is shaped and formed so perfectly and the colours and patterns on the wings are just wonderful. I cannot find any fault in this striking image and can only sing praises. Your camerawork here is exceptional, the focus and sharpness excellent and the composition great. How beautiful is the view! It was a pleasure to stop by such a delightful and colourful image. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Olá Paulo,
Not only a technically almost excellent image, but also a very interesting one, because our European eyes are familiar with Vanessa cardui, and it's a different and very nice specie.
On "technically almost excellent" I mean composition, focus, sharpness, POV, pose are second to none, absolutely beautiful. But I feel the contrast a bit too few. That's why I made my workshop version.
Best regards from Hungary (Europe), László
